The following is a Heck, DiPisa, Link Republican Campaign release:

Tom Meli, G.O.P. Club president, Steve Pikowski and Darlene Parente have been working as Campaign Managers to Re-Elect Mayor Rose Heck, and Council Members Justin A. DiPisa and Pamela J. Link. Co-Chairs of the Committee include Council Members Sonya Buckman, David Gonzalez, John Dingertopadre and Russell Lipari.

Each has been assigned particular duties and promise not to take anything for granted even though they believe that their candidates are the most knowledgeable and experienced in serving in their positions. Their leadership has kept Hasbrouck Heights strong during one of the worst economic crises ever experienced since the Great Depression. “We need these people to keep us strong during these tough times,” said Meli, an experienced businessman and investment broker. “We have seen the near disaster that occurred in 2007 when others took over the Council, we cannot risk that again. We now have people of integrity, who have shown how to cut budgets, when losing hundreds of thousands of dollars in support from the State. They have held public forums and encouraged seniors and taxpayers to sign up for Tax Freeze Benefits and Homestead Benefits. I will report more on these matters in the days ahead,” concluded Tom Meli.

Darlene Parente believes that the efforts of Rose, Justin and Pam have made a difference in the lives of young families. “They have kept us at the forefront of applying and being obtaining grants to support our town in so many ways. We have seen improvements in our parks and the programs offered by the Recreational Dept. and Library are of the highest quality; all receiving support and encouragement from these three who make up the Finance Committee. They have fought for new grants to replace the Woodland Park Pavilion and make it better than ever. Those plans were discussed recently at a Council Meeting.  They brought us the Street Fair, bringing together the Business Community to contribute $30,000, to support this wonderful family event on an annual basis. And there is much more. I am proud to be part of their Campaign,” said Darlene.

Steve Pikowski who has been a strong supporter of young people’s activities in town has come up with even more ideas to better work with our young teens who will someday be the leaders of our community. “I am taking an active role in the Heck, DiPisa, Link Campaign, because I believe in them. I have watched and worked with them over the years and know I can trust them and their dedication to our town. Our young people need guidance from people they know and can trust. Who care about them and their future,” said Steve. “It is important to me to have the best and to look at their history and strong work ethic. You know you can trust and count on Rose, Justin and Pam,” Steve concluded.

The following is a release from the Hasbrouck Heights Republican Club President Thomas Meli.

“It is with great pleasure that The Hasbrouck Heights Republican Club announces its candidates for re-election. The Nominating Committee recommended and the Executive Committee unanimously endorsed Incumbent Mayor Rose Heck, and Council Members Justin A. DiPisa and Pamela J. Link, to be their choice in the June Primary and November elections.

“They exemplify honesty, integrity and the much needed experience we need going forward in these tough economic times. Their service to our community has been outstanding. Issues such as Teterboro, the economy and rising costs could not be addressed by a more dedicated and experienced group. We ask all residents of Heights to keep us headed in the right direction and support Mayor Heck, Councilwoman Link, and Councilman Dipisa for re-election.

“The members of the Executive Committee included Council Members Sonya Buckman, David Gonzalez, John Dingertopadre and Russell Lipari along with me as Club President and Officers Theresa Esposito, Joan Verile, Mary Kozak, and Anthony Bernice. The committee also included members Joan Spaldo, Ronald Jones, Rosemarie DiPisa, Dennis Nuzzo, John Baratta, W. Peter Kepsel, Susanne Kepsel, Dorothy Bernice, Lynn Callahan, John Coneys, and Thomas Verrastro.

“Mayor Heck thanked all for their support and confidence, noting how much work has been accomplished since we first nominated her in 2007 and how much more we still have to do in these challenging times. She spoke highly of the need for experience epitomized by Councilman DiPisa and Councilwoman Link. Both DiPisa and Link echoed their thanks to the committee and promised a vigorous door-to-door walking campaign,” concluded Meli
