The following is a Republican Campaign Committee release:
Republican Club Unanimously Endorses Incumbents Sonya Buckman and David Gonzalez The Hasbrouck Heights Republican Club is pleased to announce the nomination and unanimous endorsement of Sonya Buckman and Dave Gonzalez as their candidates for Council in the 2010 election. Dave and Sonya are completing their first term on the Council. Both have been responsive to the needs of our residents and have served on a number of committees.
Sonya Buckman has been Commissioner of Recreation for the past two and a half years, and Parks for one year; she had previously served as Deputy. She has served as Library Liaison since she became a Councilwoman; she has served as Deputy Police Commissioner and Deputy Finance Commissioner as well as Zoning and Planning Commissioner.
David Gonzalez has been Fire Commissioner for the past two and a half years and was DPW Commissioner for two years. He currently serves as Deputy Commissioner of Recreation and Parks and The Dept of Public Works. He is Liaison to the Environmental and Transportation Commission and has been actively involved since he became a Councilman with the Enhanced Recycling Program.
The
Candidates have named Mayor Rose Heck their Honorary Campaign
Manager and Councilman Justin DiPisa and Republican Club President
Tom Meli as Co-Chairs of their campaign. Councilwoman Pamela Link
was named Campaign Treasurer. They all look forward to conducting
the Republicans for Responsible Government Campaign here in
